The mission of the Spencer S. Eccles Health Sciences Library is to advance education, research, and health care through information access, service and innovation. The library serves the educational, research, and clinical needs of health professionals, students and researchers at the Health Sciences Center, the University of Utah, the State of Utah and of the Internet.

Eccles Health Sciences Library is a Regional Medical Library (RML) for the MidContinental Region of the National Network of Libraries of Medicine (NN/LM) awarded by the National Library of Medicine.

As part of the Health Sciences Center, the library is located south of, and adjacent to, the School of Medicine. See the map.

The Interim Director of the Library is Joan Stoddart.
